Sarawak: The body of a man feared to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing in Sungai Maong at Jalan Matang last night has been found. Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi reported that the body of Jacob Tuan, 32, was discovered by a search and rescue (SAR) team about 300 metres from the scene at around 12:30 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim’s body had multiple injuries believed to have been caused by a crocodile attack. Jacob Tuan was confirmed dead, and his body has been sent to Sarawak General Hospital for further action. The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR), as stated by Mohd Irwan Hafiz in a statement today.
Mohd Irwan Hafiz expressed appreciation to all agencies involved in the SAR operation for their efforts. Earlier reports indicated that the victim was fishing with his father-in-law when he was dragged underwater by a crocodile at about 10 pm.
