BN Expresses Willingness to Collaborate with PN in Melaka State Government

Melaka:Barisan Nasional (BN) is prepared to invite Perikatan Nasional (PN) to join the state administration if the coalition succeeds in forming the government in the 16th Melaka State Election on November 14.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that this approach is intended to respect the people's mandate and reflects the political understanding reached between the two coalitions. This strategy mirrors a previous arrangement in Negeri Sembilan, where PN was included in the government.

Dr Ahmad Zahid emphasized that, similar to previous instances when the Unity Government was formed in Melaka, PN assemblymen will be invited to join the state government if they win their respective seats. He mentioned that, historically, partners in Pakatan Harapan (PH) were appointed as state executive councillors and deputy Exco members but later chose to leave.

In the upcoming election, BN is contesting 23 of the 28 available seats, while PN is contesting five. The Election Commission has designated November 14 as the polling day for the Melaka state election, with early voting scheduled for November 10.
