Kuala lumpur: Barisan Nasional (BN) will ensure that the Negeri Sembilan state election campaign is conducted in a healthy and prudent manner throughout the 14-day campaign period, said UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. He emphasized that all BN machinery must prioritize democratic practices by approaching voters in a mature and civilised manner to ensure that the people can make the best choice.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johari stated that BN has two candidates, one in Gemencheh and one in Repah, who will adhere to these principles during their campaigns. He encouraged all machinery to engage with the community prudently, highlighting the importance of earning support for the candidates by visiting villages and interacting with residents. The ultimate goal, he added, is to elect capable leaders to assist the people, particularly in the Gemencheh and Tampin parliamentary constituencies.

Johari noted that the two BN candidates, Suhaimizan Bizar for the Gemencheh state assembly seat and Koh Kim Swee for the Repah state assembly seat, have commendable service records and are well-positioned to serve the community effectively. Suhaimizan's previous experience as a representative and Koh's unique approach to engaging with the Chinese community were highlighted as key strengths.

He underscored that the election represents a democratic process, providing the populace with the opportunity to select the most suitable leaders to represent them at the state level. In discussing potential future collaborations, Johari mentioned that any understanding between BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) would rely on both coalitions' willingness to find common ground despite differing political ideologies. He acknowledged that differences in opinion are a routine aspect of politics, yet cooperation could be explored if mutual interests are identified.

Johari concluded by emphasizing that the final decision lies with the electorate, not the leaders, reiterating the democratic essence of elections.
