Sepang: Aprilia Racing rider Marco Bezzecchi emerged as one of the standout performers as the 2026 MotoGP pre-season winter test concluded at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), here today. The Italian posted a fastest lap of one minute 56.526 seconds (s) in the evening session (FP6), finishing ahead of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing's Fabio Di Giannantonio, who clocked 1:57.093s.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider Alex Marquez completed the top three with a time of 1:57.295s. Earlier in the day, Alex's record-breaking lap of 1:56.402s remained the fastest of the three-day test, with Bezzecchi ending the session as the second fastest overall.

Following the conclusion of the Sepang test, riders will head to the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, for the final pre-season test scheduled from Feb 21 to 22. The 2026 MotoGP season will officially begin with the Thailand Grand Prix (GP) from Feb 27 to March 1, while the Malaysian GP at SIC is set to take place from Oct 30 to Nov 1.

The top 10 finishers in the test were Marco Bezzecchi from Aprilia Racing, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing, and Alex Marquez of BK8 Gresini Racing. Other notable timings were set by Ai Ogura of Trackhouse MotoGP Team, Enea Bastianini of Red Bull KTM Tech3, and Brad Binder of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
