Raub: The Raub and Lipis divisions of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) announced the dissolution of their respective division committees effective today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Raub Bersatu chief Datuk Fakrunizam Ibrahim stated that the decision was made due to a loss of trust and respect for the Bersatu leadership. "Therefore, the entire Raub Bersatu division committee has officially dissolved today," he mentioned when contacted.
Similarly, the Lipis Bersatu division, led by Nor Alias Ibrahim, declared that the dissolution decision was reached after a special meeting of the division and branches. The unanimous decision was made due to dissatisfaction with the leadership of President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. "The turmoil that has been ongoing for almost a year is very disappointing. We see that the President has not succeeded in controlling the ongoing turmoil and has done nothing to restore the situation," he expressed.
Previously, Bersatu expelled 17 of its members, including several top leaders, four Members of Parliament, and two State Assemblymen for violating the party's constitution. These members retain the right to file an appeal within 14 days.
Additionally, it was reported that 22 Bersatu divisions have been dissolved nationwide following the party's leadership crisis.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin stated in a press release that the party is in the process of restructuring the divisions and wings involved in the resignation of their leaders and committee members. A special task force, co-chaired by two vice-presidents, Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, has been established to carry out the process. The secretary-general, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, serves as the secretariat of the team.
In the meantime, Muhyiddin announced he would attend the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Supreme Council meeting tomorrow, which will decide on the appointment of a new PN chairman.
