Bersama Unveils Six-Point Manifesto for Melaka State Election

Melaka:Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) has unveiled a six-point manifesto for the 16th Melaka state election, emphasizing financial sustainability, public welfare, and environmental protection.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 23-page manifesto, themed 'Dulu Kancil Pilih Melaka, Kini Melaka Pilih Kancil', was launched by the party's co-founder Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli. It introduces Bersama's 16 candidates and outlines the party's pledge to promote a grassroots, community service-oriented political culture.

The manifesto reviews state government financial sustainability and management from 2021 to 2025, highlighting planning weaknesses and the proliferation of 'white elephant' projects. It sets out Bersama's vision for balanced economic growth in Melaka through economic diversification and efforts to increase purchasing power, including reducing reliance on property development and land reclamation projects.

Additionally, the manifesto proposes a Melaka Infrastructure Plan 2050 to address threats from rising sea levels, expected to affect over 460,000 residents. Strengthening governance and the democratic system is also a priority, aiming for a transparent administration free from partisan politics. Bersama plans to expand socio-economic programs, suggesting that at least 30 percent of state expenditure be directed toward programs directly benefiting the people.

Polling for the Melaka state election is scheduled for November 14, with early voting set for November 10.
