Bernama Staff Embrace Taiso Exercise For Healthier Workdays

Kuala lumpur: Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) employees kicked off their Monday morning on a more energetic note with the Taiso Pagi @ Bernama exercise programme to cultivate a healthy lifestyle in the workplace. Held in conjunction with Malaysia Sihat Sejahtera Month, the programme not only promotes physical fitness but also offers employees a mental breather before they dive into their packed schedules.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bernama Corporate Affairs Division head Mariati Mohd Arif stated that the five-minute Monday session aims to improve physical fitness, mental freshness, and discipline among the staff. She emphasized that this simple activity is a proactive step by the agency to prioritize employees' health and well-being amid the busy daily workload. "The initiative runs in tandem with Malaysia Sihat Sejahtera Month in September and National Sports Day in October," she said. Mariati encouraged the news agency's employees to join the exercise sessions to help build a healthier, fitter workforce.

Meanwhile, participant Ahmad Yurry Ahmad Satiman, a broadcast journalist with Bernama Radio, said the light exercises helped motivate and energize them before starting the day. "Although brief, this short exercise routine is enough to refresh the body and help reduce stress. When done together, it also strengthens bonds among colleagues," he said.

For Aisha Hani Nor Azmir, a journalist with the Editorial Department's News Desk, Taiso exercise is highly suitable for office workers who spend long hours at their desks. "These stretches really help relieve the tension in my neck and body. Even in just five minutes, I feel recharged and more focused to take on the day's work," she said.
