Kuala Lampur:The Malaysian National News Agency, Bernama, received the Mass Media Broadcasting Award at the 2026 Malaysia Industry Awards (MINDA). Bernama's Chief Executive Officer, Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, accepted the award, which was presented by Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Sim Tze Tzin. The event was also attended by Melaka Yang Dipertua Tun Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam and Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Steven Sim.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the award, part of the Industry Outstanding Awards category, acknowledges Bernama's achievements in mass media broadcasting and its role in delivering crucial information to the public.
During the event, Sim highlighted the success of entrepreneurs, including those from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), despite challenging global economic conditions. He emphasized Malaysia's resilience as an open economy affected by international crises, and congratulated the Federation of Malaysian Business Associations (FMBA) for supporting entrepreneurs and engaging with the government.
Nur-ul Afida expressed that the recognition reflects the dedication of the Bernama team in producing quality content. She congratulated the Bernama TV and Radio teams and the Editorial Department for their contributions, which have been acknowledged through this award.
MINDA 2026, organized by FMBA, celebrates the achievements of various sectors, serving as a benchmark of excellence. The event recognized 36 recipients, including Datuk Irwan Shah Abdullah, known as DJ Dave, who received the Evergreen Musical Legend Award.
