Glasgow: The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) is in Glasgow to provide comprehensive coverage of the 2026 Commonwealth Games from July 23 to Aug 2. The coverage is being handled by sports journalist Ahmad Nazrin Syahmi Mohamad Arif and photographer Nazirul Roselan, with emphasis on the Malaysian contingent, competition results, reactions from athletes and coaches, as well as television, photography and digital content.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, throughout the Games, Bernama will closely follow the participation of 59 national athletes, including 22 para athletes, who will compete in eight of the 10 sports on the programme. Malaysia will be represented in 3x3 basketball, artistic gymnastics, athletics, lawn bowls, judo, swimming, track cycling, and weightlifting, as well as six integrated para sports - 3x3 wheelchair basketball, para athletics, para bowls, para swimming, para track cycling, and para powerlifting.

Malaysia has been set a target of five gold, two silver, and four bronze medals. Among the leading athletes are para powerlifting champion Bonnie Bunyau Gustin, para long jumper Datuk Abdul Latif Romly, track cycling ace Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang, and lawn bowler Emma Firyana Saroji.

Glasgow 2026 will be staged at four main venues located within an eight-mile corridor across the city - Scotstoun Stadium, Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow International Arena, and the Scottish Event Campus. The Games will kick off with an opening ceremony on Thursday at The Hydro, here. Glasgow is hosting the Commonwealth Games for the second time after having previously staged the event in 2014.
