Berjaya Land’s Net Loss Widens To RM121.76 Mln In 2Q FY2026

Kuala lumpur: Berjaya Land Bhd reported a significant increase in net loss for the second quarter ended December 31, 2025 (2Q FY2026), with the figures reaching RM121.76 million, compared to a net loss of RM33.93 million in the same quarter the previous year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Berjaya Land attributed the increased losses to decreased contributions from its hotels and resorts segment, along with negative impacts from foreign currency translation. Despite these setbacks, the company experienced a two per cent rise in revenue, reaching RM1.77 billion, up from RM1.73 billion the previous year. This revenue growth was driven by higher earnings from its subsidiary and increased property progress billings.

For the first half of FY2026, Berjaya Land reported a further widening of its net loss to RM116.23 million from RM31.16 million in the previous corresponding period. Revenue for this period saw a rise to RM3.66 billion, compared to RM3.50 billion in the prior year.

Looking ahead, the group expressed optimism regarding its domestic business segments, expecting improvements supported by resilient consumer spending and sustained tourism growth. The directors remain cautiously optimistic about the group's performance for the remaining quarters of FY2026, ending June 30, 2026, assuming no unforeseen circumstances arise.
