Beaufort: Only the Beaufort district remains affected by the flood disaster in Sabah, with 449 people from 144 families taking shelter in temporary relief centres (PPS) as of 8 pm today, compared to 1,258 people from 485 families at 4 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat announced that three PPS were closed in Beaufort tonight, leaving only five operational in the district. The statement also highlighted that Tenom had successfully recovered from the flooding, allowing 466 people from 200 families who had been sheltering in six PPS to return home tonight.
The flood recovery process is making progress, as the number of flood victims in Beaufort continues to decrease. The statement indicated that a total of 20 villages in Tenom have recovered from floods, while 10 villages in Beaufort remain affected.
