Bayan Lepas Puzzle: Mother, Daughter Dead For Over A Week – Police

Police: Authorities have confirmed that a woman and her daughter, whose bodies were discovered in an apartment on Jalan Bukit Gambir, have been deceased for more than a week.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Penang deputy police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin stated that the post-mortem report conducted on the pair indicated no signs of foul play. The autopsy results revealed that the bodies had been lifeless for over a week, and the cause of death could not be ascertained due to the advanced state of decomposition.

Media reports highlighted that the bodies of the 40-year-old woman and her two-year-old child were found decomposing in the apartment after complaints of a foul odor were reported by the public. The police confirmed that there were no visible injuries on the remains, following an autopsy at the Penang Hospital’s Forensic Department.

The internal examination conducted showed significant decay of internal organs but no suspicious injuries, leading the police to classify the case as a sudden death.
