Melaka: The distribution of Early Schooling Assistance (BAP) in Melaka is expected to be fully completed and handed over to all recipients by the end of this month, said Deputy Minister of Higher Education Adam Adli Abd Halim. The Hang Tuah Jaya Member of Parliament noted that despite initial concerns from parents regarding the large number of recipients and the substantial amount of cash involved, the process has been effectively managed by the Melaka State Education Department (JPN).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the distribution process is running smoothly and in an orderly manner, with parents providing cooperation. This cooperation has eased the process, and there is confidence that the distribution will be completed before the end of the month. Deputy Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim made these remarks while speaking to reporters after the presentation of a mock cheque for the BAP at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Krubong, which was attended by Melaka Education director Mahfudzah Mohamed Noor.
The federal government has allocated RM23.3 million for the implementation of BAP in Melaka this year, benefiting 155,406 recipients comprising primary and secondary school students. The BAP programme is part of the government's efforts to alleviate the financial burden on parents in preparing their children for the school year.
