Kuala lumpur: The Bandar Enstek Hospital, planned for a 50-acre site in Bandar Baru Enstek, is anticipated to be fully operational by 2032, significantly boosting healthcare capacity and improving access to medical services for over 700,000 residents in Seremban and its surrounding areas.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad stated that the major specialist hospital, initially accommodating 350 beds, is in the final stages of the Federal land acquisition process. This involves a site presently used by the Ministry of Higher Education. Construction is projected to begin by 2028, following the completion of the land acquisition.
An allocation of RM30 million has been made for land acquisition and preliminary works under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the 2026 Budget. This facility is expected to benefit residents in Seremban, Nilai, Labu, Lenggeng, Seremban 2, Sendayan, and nearby areas, easing the burden on Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital, the state's main referral hospital.
Dzulkefly noted that the hospital's capacity would progressively increase from the initial 350 beds to a maximum of 500 beds. Bandar Baru Enstek was chosen for its strategic location within the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) corridor and excellent highway connectivity.
He emphasized that constructing the new hospital in Seremban district is a strategic government investment to fortify the Negeri Sembilan healthcare system over the next 20 to 30 years. The Ministry of Health will collaborate closely with the state government, relevant ministries, and agencies to expedite the project's implementation.
Dzulkefly also addressed allegations that the hospital construction announcement was politically motivated ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state polls, asserting that the project results from ongoing efforts by the state government, Federal Government, and MOH since 2024. The necessity for a new hospital to meet current healthcare demands in the district was highlighted by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun in March 2024.
