Kuala lumpur: A six-month-old baby girl has died after reportedly falling unconscious while under the care of a babysitter at a residence last Tuesday. The incident has prompted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby's death.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that the baby was rushed to the hospital by her mother and the babysitter but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The authorities received a report regarding the incident at approximately 8:08 pm.

Datuk Fadil Marsus explained that initial investigations revealed the babysitter had informed the baby's mother at 5:04 pm that the child had been unconscious for about 30 minutes at her home. The police are currently awaiting the results of a laboratory analysis to determine the cause of death.

The case is under investigation pursuant to Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, as authorities seek to uncover further details regarding this tragic incident.
