Kuala lumpur: Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has announced his resignation as Secretary-General of Perikatan Nasional (PN), effective January 1, 2026. In a Facebook post today, Azmin stated that the decision follows the fact that his appointment was made under the authority of PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azmin also announced that he will step down as chairman of Selangor PN on the same date. This decision coincides with the earlier announcement by Muhyiddin, who declared his resignation as national PN chairman, effective January 1, 2026. The move by Azmin was later mirrored by Datuk Dr. Sahruddin Jamal, who stepped down as Johor PN chairman.
