Azeem Plans Return to Malaysia to Focus on Family and Athletics

Kuala lumpur: National sprinter Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi has announced his decision to remain in Malaysia to further his athletics career following the completion of his studies at Auburn University in the United States. The 100-metre national record holder, with a personal best of 10.09 seconds, has no immediate plans to return to the United States, prioritizing time with family after spending four years abroad.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azeem expressed his desire to reconnect with his family and acknowledged their significant role, along with his coaches and friends, in his achievements. He emphasized the importance of being surrounded by the people closest to him during this stage of his life.

Azeem plans to continue his training under the guidance of his American coach, Ken Harnden, with local supervision by coach Muhammad Amir Izwan Tan Abdullah. The 22-year-old also hinted at future academic pursuits, expressing interest in a master's degree. However, he intends to dedicate the coming months entirely to his sports career before considering further education.
