Azalina Urges UMNO to Enhance Digital Strategy for Upcoming Elections

Kuala lumpur: UMNO must recognise the need to strengthen its digital capabilities to counter slander and disseminate facts through social media and smartphones, particularly in preparation for the upcoming General Election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, UMNO Information chief Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said emphasized that with enhanced digital capabilities, UMNO must address the gap in public perception regarding the party’s image. She highlighted the importance of a proactive approach in adapting to digital trends to ensure effective communication and engagement with the public.

Azalina also reminded party members that the concept of a unity or coalition government is not new to UMNO, as it has been a part of their strategy since the days of the Alliance and the subsequent formation of Barisan Nasional. Despite not being the leading party, UMNO continues to play a crucial role as a stabilising factor in the current government setup.

In the context of the MADANI Government, Azalina reaffirmed Barisan Nasional’s commitment to upholding the Federal Constitution’s core principles, such as Islam as the religion of the Federation, the role of the Malay Rulers, Malay as the national language, and the special rights of the Malays and Bumiputera. She expressed satisfaction that these principles have not been challenged by coalition partners, contributing to the government’s stability over the past three years.
