Ayer Kuning By-Election: BN Aims To Win Over Fence-Sitters

Ayer Kuning: Barisan Nasional (BN) is striving to secure the support of fence-sitters, particularly among young voters, in the Ayer Kuning state by-election. Its deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said this requires a targeted approach through dialogue sessions and transparent explanations regarding current issues and the party’s direction.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad emphasized the importance of ensuring that young voters are not left confused or misled by baseless political narratives. He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after inspecting the party’s campaign machinery at the Batu Tiga polling district centre (PDM).

Mohamad stated that the party’s campaign, now in its sixth day, is progressing smoothly, with concerted efforts to engage as many voters as possible. Each PDM has been assigned key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the campaign is executed in an organized and effective manner.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of BN assemblyman Ishsam Shahruddin from a heart attack on February 22. It features a three-cornered contest involving BN candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir, Abd Muhaimin Malek of Perikatan Nasional (PN), and Bawani KS from Parti Sosialis Malaysia. Polling is scheduled for April 26, with early voting set for April 22.
