Kuala Lumpur: AT and S Austria Technologie and Systemtechnik (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is set to begin high volume manufacturing at its newly established campus in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, located in the state of Kedah. The facility will produce high-end Integrated Circuit (IC) Substrates for AMD’s data center processors, among other clients.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the campus in Kulim, situated approximately 350 kilometers north of Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, was constructed in a remarkably short period. Ingolf Schroeder, EVP Business Unit Microelectronics at AT and S, stated, “The new AT and S campus was built in just two years. One year later we are ready to start high volume production.” He highlighted the significance of this achievement not only for AT and S but also for Malaysia’s economic and technological advancement. The introduction of IC substrate technology in Kulim aims to bolster Malaysia’s economic progress and AT and S’s global standing as a top IC substrate provider, contributing to the country’s role in Southeast Asia’s technological landscape.
