Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, have expressed their prayers for the health and speedy recovery of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is currently receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the former prime minister was admitted to IJN after reportedly falling at his residence. The incident occurred at 9.30 am, and it was confirmed by Tun Dr Mahathir's press secretary, Sufi Yusoff, through a message shared on the official Dr M Media Updates WhatsApp group.

Sufi Yusoff stated that the 100-year-old statesman was taken to IJN by ambulance and was reported to be conscious. Anwar posted on Facebook, "I, together with Azizah, pray for Tun Mahathir's well-being and swift recovery, Insya-Allah."
