Anwar Urges Negeri Sembilan Voters to Renew Pakatan Harapan Mandate

Negeri sembilan: Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today called on voters in Negeri Sembilan to give the coalition a fresh mandate in the 16th state election to continue governing the state. The prime minister emphasized the necessity of this support to enable Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to maintain his leadership of the state administration and secure a more promising future for Negeri Sembilan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar urged voters to provide a mandate for the Pakatan Harapan government in Negeri Sembilan, which would allow Aminuddin Harun to be reappointed as menteri besar. He expressed confidence that, with this mandate, the state's future would be more secure and beneficial for workers and small traders. Anwar's remarks were made during the launch of Negeri Sembilan PH's election machinery, attended by key coalition figures including PH deputy chairman Anthony Loke and PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Anwar also highlighted the government's commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the people and bolstering the national economy through increased investments. He noted Malaysia's impressive investment performance compared to neighboring countries, with states like Johor and Negeri Sembilan experiencing significant development driven by economic activity and investment inflows.

In addressing political dynamics, Anwar stated that the government refrains from adopting a hostile stance despite political differences among leaders. He emphasized the importance of political stability and cooperation within the Unity Government to effectively implement the country's development agenda for the people's benefit.

The prime minister also assured that the Federal Government would not meddle in matters concerning the Negeri Sembilan royal institution, urging that any issues be resolved in accordance with the Constitution and existing laws. Anwar reiterated his respect for the state's jurisdiction and the Yang Dipertuan Besar, despite differing views on the royal system.

Anwar cautioned against turning the royal institution into a political dispute that could jeopardize national stability and the Constitutional Monarchy system. He stressed the importance of adhering to constitutional processes for any changes regarding the monarchy, emphasizing his disagreement with any efforts to remove the Ruler without following due process.
