Anwar Urges Comprehensive Investigation Into Temerloh Accident, Offers Sympathy to Bereaved Families

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for a comprehensive probe into the tragic accident in Temerloh that resulted in the deaths of three family members returning from the National Day celebrations in Putrajaya. Extending his heartfelt condolences to the victims' families, Anwar expressed his prayers that the deceased would be blessed and that their families would find strength to endure their loss.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar conveyed his sympathies through a Facebook post, stating, 'Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. May Allah SWT bless their souls and grant strength and fortitude to the families left behind.' He also emphasized the importance of road safety, urging all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to safeguard themselves and their families.

The accident, which claimed four lives and injured three others, occurred at KM110.4 of the East Coast Expressway (LPT) 1 eastbound, near the Temerloh Toll Plaza exit in Lanchang, Temerloh, around 10 pm. Police have identified the deceased as Muhammad Nazatul Nazmi, his wife Nur Atiqah Sofiya Mohd Kazwan, both 32, and their four-year-old son, traveling in a Proton S70. The fourth victim, Seow Beng Wain, 55, was a passenger in a Honda CR-V from Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The collision involved 11 vehicles, including four cars, three SUVs, an MPV, a pickup truck, a tanker lorry, and a bus. Initial police reports suggest the accident was triggered when a cement tanker lorry lost control and collided with several other slow-moving vehicles.
