Kuala Lumpur: Maybank’s economic empowerment programme R.I.S.E. (Reach Independence and Sustainable Entrepreneurship) has made a positive impact in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, and Singapore, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He noted that the programme had demonstrated how initiatives rooted in inclusivity and empowerment could create greater opportunities for all.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared his thoughts after attending Maybank Group’s Aidilfitri reception, which took place before his departure for a working visit to Thailand. During the event, he had the honour of presenting appreciation awards to participants of the R.I.S.E. programme. This initiative by Maybank aims to strengthen the spirit of entrepreneurship, particularly among disadvantaged communities, including persons with disabilities in the ASEAN region.

In his Facebook post, Anwar extended his congratulations to Maybank for this commendable initiative and expressed his hope that similar programmes would continue to grow, contributing to a fairer and more prosperous future.
