Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today extended his condolences to the family of Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) founder Abdul Wahab Alwi, who died early this morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, in a Facebook post, described Abdul Wahab as the 'Father of MRSM' and acknowledged his significant contribution to the history of education in the country. Abdul Wahab's efforts in conceptualising and developing the MRSM initiative played a crucial role in expanding access to science education for Malaysian children.
Anwar expressed his prayers for Abdul Wahab, hoping for divine mercy and forgiveness for his sins, and that he be placed among the righteous. The Prime Minister also highlighted that Abdul Wahab's dedication helped MRSM grow into a respected institution, producing many knowledgeable and skilled Malaysians who have succeeded in various fields.
Abdul Wahab passed away at 3 am today at the age of 84.
