Anwar Engages in Strategic Dialogue with Qatar’s Former Deputy Prime Minister

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from the former Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar, who is also the former Foreign Minister, Khalid Mohammad Al Attiyah, at his office in the Parliament Building here. The meeting serves as an important step in fostering bilateral relations between Malaysia and Qatar.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared in a Facebook post that the discussions focused on current issues and explored potential areas for strategic and investment cooperation that could be enhanced for the mutual benefit of both countries. Anwar emphasized that the meeting underscores a continuous commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Qatar.

The dialogue builds upon the foundation laid during the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit held in Kuala Lumpur in May of the previous year. During that summit, Anwar met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and discussed various strategic cooperation areas, including investment, trade, defence cooperation, energy, the digital industry, connectivity, and education. These discussions reflect a shared vision for deepening collaboration across multiple sectors, promising mutual growth and development.
