Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced an allocation of RM100,000 for each village under the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) to implement development projects of their choice. The approach of allowing villagers to choose their preferred projects aligns with the MADANI Government’s aspiration, which emphasizes consultation and community empowerment.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated that each Felda village is allocated RM100,000 to decide on the project they wish to implement, be it purchasing a tractor, building a fish pond, or buying a drone. He emphasized that this decision-making is left to the villagers rather than the Felda management. This announcement was made during the launch of the 2025 Mega 3D Carnival (MK3D) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
The event was attended by several key figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Felda chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.
Anwar reiterated the government’s commitment to upholding the nation’s dignity and fulfilling its trust to the people, including the Felda community, in accordance with the principles of the MADANI Government. He highlighted the administration’s achievements over the past three years, including the establishment of dialysis centers in every Felda area to safeguard settlers’ welfare.
In the field of education, Anwar mentioned that more than 1,000 adopted schools have been established in collaboration with corporate and government-linked companies, including those in Felda areas. He also expressed his appreciation for Ahmad Zahid, who serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, and other relevant ministries involved in Felda’s development.
Under the MADANI Government, Anwar emphasized that all ministries, including KKDW, KUSKOP, the Health Ministry, and the Education Ministry, bear the responsibility of improving the standard of living and facilities in Felda.
