Hangzhou:DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke remains steadfast in his decision to resign as Transport Minister, announcing that he will submit his resignation letter upon returning from China. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke made this decision following a DAP Central Executive Committee meeting in response to the conditional pardon granted to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He confirmed that he would hand in his resignation letter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim upon his return. Currently, Loke is in China accompanying the Prime Minister on a three-day working visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou, as invited by the Chinese government. Despite Loke's resignation, other DAP ministers and deputy ministers are expected to continue their roles in the Unity Government. During a conversation with Malaysian media while traveling from Shanghai to Hangzhou by high-speed train, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that he would not make a hasty decision regarding Loke's resignation. He emp hasized the need to hear Loke's reasoning first and noted that DAP should not yield to demands from parties with political motives for the party to exit the government.
