Aminuddin Harun and Anthony Loke Announced as Key Candidates for Negeri Sembilan State Election

Kuala lumpur: Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has been declared as Pakatan Harapan's (PH) candidate for the Linggi seat in the upcoming 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election. Aminuddin, who has been the Sikamat state assemblyman for four consecutive terms since 2008, is set to contest in a new constituency.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke will defend the Chennah seat, a position he has held since 2013. The announcement was made by PH chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the coalition's candidate announcement ceremony. The event saw a gathering of PH's top leadership along with thousands of supporters.

The ceremony was also attended by Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, PH communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, and the coalition's election director, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. Anwar Ibrahim expressed optimism about the coalition's prospects and urged the public to support PH for continued development and well-being in Negeri Sembilan.

The Election Commission has scheduled polling for August 1, with nomination day on July 18 and early voting set for July 28. PH aims to contest all 36 seats in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly. In the last state election, PH secured 17 seats, while Barisan Nasional won 14, and Perikatan Nasional gained five.

A comprehensive list of PH candidates for the state polls has been released, featuring candidates across various constituencies, including high-profile figures such as Aminuddin Harun in Linggi and Anthony Loke in Chennah.
