All Military Training in Pahang Requires Sultan’s Approval – Tengku Hassanal

The Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, announced today that all military training and exercises conducted in the state of Pahang must receive prior consent from the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. This decision underscores the importance placed on the oversight of military activities within the state, particularly those involving the region's islands.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tengku Hassanal expressed concerns about the potential environmental impact of military exercises, highlighting the risks posed to Pahang's flora and fauna. The Regent's statement reflects a commitment to safeguarding the state's ecological balance while acknowledging the necessity of military preparedness.

Tengku Hassanal emphasized that while he supports military training aimed at improving the skills and capabilities of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) officers and personnel, such activities must be conduc ted responsibly. The Regent stressed the importance of ensuring that military exercises are harmonious with the environment and involve coordination with all relevant parties.

He stated, "The MAF and all related departments or agencies must inform and obtain the consent of the Sultan of Pahang prior to conducting any military training and exercises in Pahang." The Regent's directive seeks to establish a framework that balances military readiness with environmental stewardship.

Furthermore, Tengku Hassanal warned that any failure to adhere to this decree could lead to state government intervention. He urged the MAF and associated parties to comply with the established protocols to prevent any procedural violations.
