Alam Maritim Resources CEO Azmi To Be Charged Tomorrow

Kuala lumpur: Alam Maritim Resources Bhd group managing director and CEO Datuk Azmi Ahmad is set to face charges at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow. The proceedings are scheduled to take place at Criminal Sessions Court 14 before Judge Suzana Hussin at 9 am.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, on August 17, Alam Maritim Resources Bhd disclosed in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that Azmi had been remanded to assist with an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). This development followed the detention of seven individuals, including a CEO, a company director, a former company director, and four former senior management officers of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), as reported by Bernama on August 15. These individuals were detained to aid in investigations related to the Royal Commission of Inquiry Report on Tabung Haji.

A source revealed that a shipping company CEO in his 60s, holding the title Datuk, was detained for allegedly submitting falsified documents when making payments to TH. The allegations involve the falsification of contract documents of a petroleum company, purportedly to benefit his own company.
