Kuala lumpur: The 2026 World Al-Quds Day rally held in the federal capital today proceeded peacefully without any untoward incidents, police said. Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Mohamad Lazim Ismail confirmed that sufficient personnel had been deployed to ensure the orderly conduct of the rally.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, about 380 participants attended the rally. The event, which started at 2 pm, concluded at about 4.30 pm and saw the involvement of representatives from several non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (MAPIM).
Participants marched from Menara Tabung Haji on Jalan Tun Razak after Friday prayers to the US Embassy under police escort. They carried Palestinian and Iranian flags as well as banners condemning Israel and the United States.
