Kuala lumpur: The Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) has announced plans to enhance the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to address any potential blind spots. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that while there are already 5,000 CCTVs installed at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the focus also needs to be on the monitoring aspect of the system.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin emphasized that the issue is not merely about the presence of CCTVs, but ensuring that there are no blind spots. He made these remarks after visiting the family of the late Corporal Mohamad Nur Hafiz Rahim, who is believed to have died from electrocution in Beaufort, Sabah, last Thursday.

Saifuddin further elaborated that AKPS is currently in the second phase of operations which includes various procurement efforts, with CCTV systems being a key part of the equipment and infrastructure requirements. He highlighted the importance of not only upgrading the equipment but also focusing on the training standards of personnel responsible for monitoring these systems.
