Aidilfitri: JPBM Identifies 12 Accident Hotspots On PLUS, LPT

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has identified 12 accident hotspots along the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and the East Coast Expressway (LPT). JBPM director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad revealed that in preparation for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration, teams will be stationed at these locations from March 29 to April 3.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Nor Hisham emphasized the department’s primary goal of reaching accident sites within 30 minutes, especially on these two major expressways, which are crucial during the festive period. “Based on our experience, accidents on these expressways can cause severe traffic congestion, so we are deploying our personnel in these locations to minimize the impact,” he stated.

Datuk Nor Hisham shared these details with reporters after the ceremony to appoint Koperasi Bomba Dan Penyelamat Malaysia Berhad (KOBOPEM) Advance Sdn Bhd as the operator of PETROS Multifuel Station (MFS) Batu Kawa. This strategic move aims to enhance the response efficiency and ensure smoother traffic flow during the holiday season.

Additionally, he noted that in Sarawak, JBPM will carry out patrols along the Pan Borneo Highway during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, demonstrating the department’s commitment to safety and swift response across various regions.
