Kuala lumpur: Access to artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge and skills must be expanded to ensure that the benefits of technology can be enjoyed by all segments of society, said Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. She emphasized that through proper and responsible use, AI can help students acquire knowledge, workers enhance their skills, and entrepreneurs grow their businesses. "This is the MADANI Government's approach, ensuring that technological advancement is not only enjoyed by certain groups, but creates opportunities for all Malaysians," Wan Azizah, who is also the wife of the Prime Minister, said when officiating the Bandar Tun Razak edition of the MyMahir TalentCorp AI Roadshow here today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme, organised by Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp), brought together over 450 participants, comprising students, youths, educators, and entrepreneurs, by providing practical exposure through hands-on training modules and guidance from industry facilitators. TalentCorp Group chief executive officer Biruntha Mooruthi stated that the practical approach adopted was aimed at ensuring that participants not only understood the theory but were also able to apply AI in their learning and career development.
She reported that, so far, over 6,000 participants from various backgrounds have taken part in the MyMahir TalentCorp AI Roadshow, thus reflecting public interest in understanding emerging technologies. "Our responsibility is to ensure that this learning is accessible, relevant, and aligned with their actual needs," she noted. Through the programme, participants were introduced to the basics of AI, responsible technology use, and industry perspectives on the role of AI in future jobs and the economy. They also received MyMahir AI Skills Credit worth RM5,000 to continue developing AI-related skills.
The MyMahir TalentCorp AI Roadshow is a MADANI Government initiative through the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), implemented by TalentCorp to bring practical and easy-to-understand AI skills to the public. This programme has been implemented in 11 parliamentary constituencies, namely Kota Kinabalu, Sepanggar, Papar, Bangi, Sungai Buloh, Kluang, Parit Sulong, Sekijang, Paya Besar, Alor Gajah, and Port Dickson. The next series will be held in Hang Tuah Jaya, Kota Melaka, Batu Sapi, and Damansara.
