Kuala lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi congratulated the champions of the National Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition 1447H/2026M. In a Facebook post today, Ahmad Zahid expressed his hope that the success of the champions at the event, which concluded in Terengganu last night, would inspire young people to engage more deeply with the Quran, enhance their understanding, and embody its teachings in their everyday lives.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid wished the winners success as they prepare to represent Malaysia on the international stage. "May both of them be blessed with success as they carry Malaysia's flag on the international stage. Insya-Allah," he stated.

The competition crowned Cik Hasnul Taqiyuddin Cik Sazali of Perak as the men's champion, while the women's title was claimed by Sarawakian Nur Syakura Mohamad Musa. Cik Hasnul Taqiyuddin, 25, is currently a third-year student of Quran and Sunnah at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Nur Syakura, 31, serves as a Quran teacher supervisor with the Sarawak Islamic Council.
