Kuala Lumpur: Batik Air, Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB), and AirAsia have agreed to add additional flights to Sarawak during the forthcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Sarawak Minister for Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin announced the arrangement, highlighting the need to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the festive season.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the extra flights will be scheduled from March 26 to April 6. These flights will operate between Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak’s key cities, including Kuching, Sibu, Miri, and Bintulu. The initiative aims to ease travel congestion and ensure Sarawakians can reunite with their families and loved ones during the celebration.
Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin advised travellers to book their tickets early to secure their travel plans. He also emphasized the ongoing collaboration between his Ministry and major airlines to ensure there is sufficient flight capacity to meet public demand during such peak periods.
