ACMF Action Plan 2026-2030 Positions ASEAN As Responsible Investment Hub — PM Anwar


Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) Action Plan 2026-2030, launched today, is set to position the region as a hub for responsible and long-term investments. Anwar, who also holds the position of Finance Minister, emphasized the importance of the updated ACMF Action Plan and the ASEAN Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance, highlighting their role in aligning regional markets with global sustainability standards.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Anwar stressed the necessity of a well-functioning capital market for resource mobilization, efficient capital allocation, and growth support. He noted that such a market must maintain integrity, accountability, and trust. His keynote address was delivered at the ACMF International Conference, held at the Securities Commission headquarters, with Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan reading the speech on his behalf.



The Prime Minister pointed out the growing demand among investors for transparency, ethical practices, and sustainability alignment. He asserted that meeting these expectations is crucial. By ensuring fairness, clarity, and robust governance, ASEAN can attract high-quality investments, thereby boosting market confidence and public trust.



SC chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi further elaborated on the ACMF Action Plan 2026-2030, which is built upon five strategic thrusts essential for a connected ASEAN capital market ecosystem. These thrusts include sustainability, financial inclusion, regional connectivity, digital transformation, and enhancements to ACMF’s institutional structures. Faiz highlighted that the plan provides a comprehensive roadmap for the region’s capital markets.
