ACLE: JDT Score First Win With 2-0 Victory Over Chengdu Rongcheng

Kuala lumpur: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) finally raked up their first win in the 2025/2026 Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE) with a 2-0 victory over Chinese club, Chengdu Rongcheng FC at Phoenix Hill Sports Park Football Stadium, Chengdu today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JDT got off to a good start with Spaniard Oscar Arribas scoring off a backheel pass from Brazilian Jairo da Silva in the fifth minute but were unable to extend their lead in the first half.

The Southern Tigers were finally rewarded for their perseverance in the 62nd minute when Nacho Mendez scored with a low volley.

The 2015 Asian Football Confederation Cup champions finally secured their first three-point win this season after losing 1-2 to Thai club Buriram United and a goalless draw against Japan club Machida Zelvia.

They now are fourth with four points in the East Region Group while Chengdu Rongcheng dropped to eighth with three points, and only the best eight teams in their group will advance to the Round of 16.
