Petaling Jaya: The Tourism Industry Awards 2025, scheduled to be held at Sunway Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya, on August 9, will present a total of 80 awards across different categories. The awards aim to recognize the significant contributions of Malaysia’s travel and hospitality professionals.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the organising chairman of the Tourism Industry Awards 2025, Datuk Emmy Suraya Hussien, stated that the awards will acknowledge achievements in categories such as best destination, sustainable tourism initiatives, outstanding hotel and accommodation, tour operator of the year, and innovation in tourism. These awards are designed to highlight exceptional accomplishments while motivating industry stakeholders to continue enhancing service quality and maintain international competitiveness.
The press conference, held at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTIC), was attended by key figures such as Malaysian International Tourism Development Association (MiTDA) president Captain Mahadzir Mansor, Tourism Malaysia senior director of package development Mohd Roslan Abdullah, Tourism Selangor event and focus tourism manager Mohamad Faroul Mustaffa Ngadamin, and one of the esteemed judges for the awards, Rohizam Md Yusoff.
Emmy Suraya emphasized that the awards ceremony is a collaborative effort hosted by MiTDA, in partnership with Tourism Selangor and Santai Travel. She extended an invitation to all tourism industry players to participate, with nominations open until June 30.
