Kuala lumpur: A total of 63 staff members of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today received the Ministry of Communications' 2025 Excellent Service Award (APC) in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and outstanding performance over the past year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bernama chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin expressed hope that the award would motivate other employees to further enhance their performance and drive the organization towards greater excellence. She emphasized that the 63 award recipients demonstrated commitment, dedication, determination, and excellence in carrying out their duties throughout the year. Nur-ul Afida conveyed her aspirations that this recognition would inspire other colleagues to strive for excellence in their respective duties.
The ceremony was attended by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, Broadcasting director-general (Radio Televisyen Malaysia) Ashwad Ismail, and Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute (IPPTAR) director Datuk Roslan Ariffin.
Nur-ul Afida highlighted that Bernama, as an agency under the Ministry of Communications, must evolve in line with current needs and strengthen its role in the country's media landscape. She noted that the majority of Bernama's workforce now consists of young employees, who she believes can bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the management in efforts to enhance organizational excellence.
In total, 687 personnel from the Ministry of Communications and its agencies received the 2025 APC, with 535 from the Peninsular Zone being honored at today's ceremony. The recipients included 66 from the Ministry of Communications; 234 from RTM; 121 from the Information Department (JaPen); 18 from the Community Communications Department (JKom); eight from IPPTAR; 63 from Bernama; and 25 from the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
