KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 558 members of the Malaysian Universities’ Volunteer Council (MASKUM) have been deployed to Kelantan for a three-day post-flood mission under the 2024 Ihsan MADANI Squad, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, an infographic posted by MASKUM on Facebook indicated that 12 universities were participating in the mission. These include Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Additional participating universities comprise Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Universiti Utara Malaysia, and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan.

MASKUM has outlined that volunteers will be involved in cleaning efforts and distributing necessities in areas such as Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Rantau Panjang, Tanah Merah, and Bachok before proceeding to Pasir Puteh the follo
wing day.

The cleaning missions will focus on locations including Sekolah Kebangsaan Rahmat and Masjid Kampung Siram in Pasir Mas, as well as Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Tumpat and Masjid At-Taqwa Bunut Susu in Tumpat.

In Rantau Panjang, the efforts will cover Masjid Gual Sitok and Masjid Al-Taqwa Taman Rantau Mas, while in Bachok, the focus will be on Kampung Bakong and Kampung Tanjung Jenera, as stated by MASKUM.
