Putrajaya:A 42-year-old man died while participating in a running event here early this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim collapsed during the event and was subsequently taken to the emergency department of Putrajaya Hospital at approximately 6.52 am.

Efforts by the hospital authorities to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at 6.54 am. An initial investigation revealed that the deceased had no history of illness.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death, as confirmed by Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed.
