Jakarta: A total of 41 flights to Jakarta (CGK) were cancelled at airports nationwide today following the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport due to volcanic ash from the Anak Krakatau eruption, according to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the cancellations affected flights scheduled between 6:45 am and 11:55 pm today. The highest number of cancellations was recorded at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), with 30 flights being affected, comprising 20 at Terminal 1 and 10 at Terminal 2.

The airport operator further reported that Penang International Airport recorded seven cancellations, followed by Subang Airport with two. Additionally, both Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport recorded one cancellation each. Notably, no cancellations were reported at Kota Bharu Airport.

The flight cancellations were a direct consequence of the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after volcanic ash from the Anak Krakatau eruption affected flight operations.
