Ipoh: Frozen food supplier, Ariff Frozen Food, delivered food aid to 350 B40 recipients from various races around Ipoh district.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ariff Frozen Food managing director, Fauziah Mohd Arib, stated that the initiative, implemented since 2016 in collaboration with the Perak Indian Muslim Association (PRIM), aims to alleviate the burden faced by recipients due to the rising cost of living.
"We hold this food aid event once a year because we want to share sustenance with those in need," Fauziah explained. The food aid package includes rice, flour, vermicelli, eggs, vegetables, fish, seafood supplies, and a chicken, with a total value of RM150. Fauziah expressed hopes to increase the number of recipients to about 500 in the future.
Meanwhile, a recipient, Abdul Majid Kalaiselvan Abdullah, 70, from Flat Ashby, shared how the aid has helped reduce his expenses on basic necessities. "Alhamdulillah, this food aid can cover some of my food supply with my wife and six children," said Abdul Majid, who spends approximately RM300 monthly on basic and wet food items. He also mentioned that he had both legs amputated due to diabetes, making the aid even more significant for his family's well-being.
