Kuala Lumpur:A total of 3,025 new trainees have been offered admission into the pre-service programme at the Ministry of Health Malaysia Training Institutes (ILKKM) for the October 2026 intake.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that 2,995 of these offers were processed through the Public Services Commission (SPA), while the remaining 30 were allocated to statutory bodies. This represents 90.7 percent of the ministry's total quota of 3,335 places.
Of the offered places, 97.9 percent, equating to 2,961 spots, are designated for 10 diploma-level programmes that span three years. The remaining 64 places, or 2.1 percent, are allocated to the two-year Dental Surgery Assistant Certificate programme.
The Diploma in Nursing programme has the largest intake, with 1,818 candidates accepted for this session. The MOH emphasized that this intake underscores its commitment to developing human capital and creating a competent healthcare workforce in the coming years to address the nation's healthcare needs.
The ministry highlighted that trainees will receive guidance through a mix of theoretical learning, practical training, and clinical exposure, focusing on mastering professional skills and delivering quality services with empathy. Emphasis will also be placed on upholding values such as integrity, discipline, professionalism, teamwork, and public service principles.
Graduates who complete the programme successfully can look forward to careers in various healthcare fields, including nursing, medical and health services, pharmacy, diagnostics, rehabilitation, and dentistry.
