Kuala Lumpur: A total of 211 flood victims are still at relief centres in Sabah and Johor as of 8 am today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Sabah, the Secretariat of the State Disaster Management Committee reported a slight increase in the number of flood victims, rising to 155 people from 54 families this morning, up from 152 people in the same number of families yesterday.
Six villages continue to be affected by floods in Beaufort, with all the victims currently residing at a permanent relief centre in Selagon, Beaufort. The situation remains critical as authorities work to provide necessary support and resources to those displaced by the flooding.
In Johor, State Disaster Management Committee chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani stated that the number of flood victims has remained constant, with 56 individuals from 17 families taking refuge at two temporary relief centres in Segamat. These centres have been operational since last Monday to accommodate those affected by the floods.
The Balai Raya Kampung Batu Badak relief centre is hosting 41 victims from 12 families, while the Dewan Komuniti Kampung Tasek centre is sheltering the remaining 15 victims from five families. Efforts are ongoing to manage the situation and provide support to the displaced families.
