2026 National Workers’ Day Carnival Offers 4,000 Job Opportunities

Kuala lumpur: The 2026 National Workers' Day celebration and carnival, scheduled from May 1 to 3 at Unifi Arena, Bukit Jalil, aims to honor the contributions of Malaysia's workforce while enhancing the career ecosystem through job opportunities, skills development, and public services.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) announced that the event, themed 'Pekerja MADANI Kesuma Bangsa,' will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and is anticipated to draw more than 15,000 workers from various sectors, including trade unions, statutory bodies, and both public and private sectors.

KESUMA highlighted that the Prime Minister will deliver a special address and present the 2026 National Workers' Day Awards, recognizing workers' contributions to national development. The awards, spanning 14 categories, will honor outstanding workers, employers, trade unions, media, and best contingents, with each recipient receiving RM10,000 in cash and a commemorative plaque, totaling RM140,000 in prize value.

The event symbolizes appreciation for the workforce and underscores the government's ongoing commitment to empowering workers as key drivers of national progress, aligning with Malaysia MADANI's aspirations. Over the three-day event, the carnival expects to attract up to 30,000 visitors, catering to the career ecosystem's diverse needs, including career entry, advancement through skills upgrading, and public well-being with access to various support services.

KESUMA emphasized the Career Carnival, organized by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), which will offer 4,000 job vacancies via the MYFutureJobs platform, with salaries ranging from RM2,500 to RM16,000. The event will also feature walk-in interviews and career guidance for job seekers.

Furthermore, the event will focus on skills development and workforce capability enhancement through training programs, upskilling, reskilling opportunities, and industrial technology advancements, ensuring workers remain competitive in a dynamic economic landscape.

In addition to job and training opportunities, KESUMA stated that the carnival will host over 50 exhibitors from various ministries, departments, government agencies, and industries, providing direct services to the public. Services include Rahmah Sales, Agro MADANI Sales, health screenings, blood donation drives, National Registration Department counters, industrial technology exhibitions, and advisory services related to labor, occupational safety and health, and TVET opportunities.
