HANOI, Vietnam's average consumer price
index in 2019 rose 2.79%, led by an increase in the cost of
healthcare, education and food, government data released on
The cost of healthcare services and medicines rose 3.84% in
the year, while the cost of education services was up 4.24%, the
General Statistics Office (GSO) said in a statement.
Food and food service costs rose 5.78%.
Consumer prices in December rose 5.23% from a year earlier,
and were up 1.40% from November, the GSO said.
Core inflation - excluding food, energy, health care and
education prices - rose 2.01% in 2019, the GSO said.
