16-Year-Old Student Dies in Three-Motorcycle Crash in Terengganu

Kuala Terengganu:A three-motorcycle collision at Jalan Sungai Buaya, Kampung Batin, Seberang Takir, resulted in the death of a 16-year-old student and injuries to his younger sister this afternoon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim, Ahmad Areesy Zafreen Ahmad Azhar, died at the scene due to serious injuries sustained in the crash. The incident occurred around 5.10 pm when Ahmad Areesy, riding a Modenas Kriss, attempted to overtake a vehicle and collided with an oncoming Honda EX5.

The Honda EX5, driven by an 18-year-old male, was subsequently rear-ended by another motorcycle traveling in the same direction. Both the Honda EX5 rider and the third motorcyclist were injured and transported to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) for treatment. Ahmad Areesy's younger sister, who was a pillion passenger on his motorcycle, was also admitted to the same hospital.

The victim, who attended Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bukit Tunggal, was moved to the HSNZ Forensic Department for further procedures. The case is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
